New hosting account guide

In short:

After adding a hosting account: upload your web site, set up your email addresses and update your name server records.

You've added a new hosting account. Now what?

You need to follow a few steps to get your hosting account ready. Only you will know the specifics, with the following being a general guide.

Please contact us if you are unsure of what to do next.

Web site

The files of which your web site is comprised will need to be uploaded. You should also create databases if needed.

Both of these can be done through the hosting account's cPanel control panel. You can also use any FTP client to upload your files.

Email addresses

By default, all mail to non-existent email addresses will be rejected. This significantly reduces spam and improves the quality of service.

Use the hosting account's cPanel control panel to set up the email addresses you intend to use.

Name servers

Your domain name records list one or more name servers. Computers will contact the name servers for your domain when getting information such as where to find your web site or where to send your email.

Follow our guide for setting your domain's name servers.
